Not long ago I wrote a blog post for the portuguese UWC movement blog.Although it´s in portuguese go and check it, it´s awesomely filled with testimonies of other portuguese UWCers.
I´ll leave the translation below.
Packing
You know you are screwed when you fit inside the suitcase but your clothes don´t.

It all starts very calmly. "I´ll only pack the essentials" you first think.

However, shirt after shirt, sock after sock, you begin noticing that you have essentially more than the 23 allowed kilograms.
You start to feel a niggling nervousness, you stress a little and then fear you have to leave behind those pants you like so much.
Packing is not necessarily bad, it showed me that many of the things which I have are not as essential as I thought thought they were and that maybe I´ll survive for two years with much less than I expected.
And it's exactly when you hit this state of peace with you and with your wardrobe, that (with the eventual help of a vacuum bags and storage tips from second years) you end up to being able to close 2 suitcases!

Hope you liked it!
